Nikita Shetty is a founding member of the Stuttgart Hub

Who are you and what are you working on?

I am Nikita. I come from India and pursued an Erasmus Masters course in Energy and Environment which gave me the opportunity to live in cities like Stockholm and Nantes – and learn how cities can enable sustainable behaviour patterns. I am now a Consultant at BABLE UG, a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute. I work with municipalities, private sector and academia to improve urban life using technology and data. The advancements in technology have a huge potential to tackle our global and urban challenges.

Why did you join the Global Shapers Stuttgart Hub?

I met some global shapers during my participation in UNLEASH and was fascinated by the concept and the kind of action they were taking to improve their neighbourhoods and cities. I would like to make a real difference in the city I have called home for the past 3 years and learn from extremely passionate and enthusiastic hub members along the way.

What is your vision for Stuttgart?

Stuttgart has been a welcoming city where I felt at home since I arrived. The diversity of people, their occupations and interests makes it special. Being the centre for automotive development, I foresee Stuttgart to transform the future of mobility. I envision it to continue to be inclusive, diverse and cultural while enabling social cohesion, climate friendly behaviour, and a high quality of life.
